MOUNT VERNON, NY – Ice Air, a leading global manufacturer of climate control systems, has expanded its SPXC-Series single packaged air conditioners and heat pumps (SPACs/SPHPs). Engineered for reliable, efficient performance in cold climates, the SPXC-Series combines the maintenance advantages of PTACs with the benefits of concealed ducted systems.
SPXCs offer enhanced design freedom because they can be concealed in closets or behind walls while using ductwork to efficiently serve multiple spaces. Utilizing Ice Air’s breakthrough cold climate technology, SPXC single packaged heat pumps operate efficiently even on the coldest days and are laboratory certified to -5°F with a theoretical lower limit for heating of -25°F ambient.
According to Tom Glass, Director of Sales and Marketing at Ice Air, “The SPXC-Series delivers the precise performance of VRF systems with the convenient maintenance characteristics associated with packaged air conditioners. In addition to helping projects satisfy increasing local and national environmental HVAC requirements, SPXCs also offer designers more performance and energy efficiency for their projects.”
The SPXC-Series comprises three models with cooling capacities ranging from 9,700 to 25,600 Btu/h and heating capacities from 8,600 to 25,900 Btu/h. The units meet all applicable UL standards and are available with back-up electric heater as a factory option.
