MOUNT VERNON, NY – Ice Air® VSHPGE-Series vertical stack geothermal water source heat pumps use the earth as a means to provide efficient heating and cooling without producing harmful carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gas emissions. Zero emissions combined with low electricity demand make the Ice Air VSHPGE-Series a smart choice for saving on energy costs while lowering a building’s carbon footprint.
“The low electricity demand of Ice Air’s VSHPGE-Series geothermal water source heat pumps can yield substantial energy savings over time while satisfying NYC Law 97 and other similar laws around the U.S,” says Tom Glass, Director of Sales and Marketing at Ice Air. “These energy savings are also a key consideration for helping projects comply with green building rating systems such as LEED®.”
Because the eco-friendly VSHGE-Series geothermal WSHPs work with the relative temperature of the earth instead of variable above ground temperatures, energy usage can be as much as 40-60% less compared to conventional systems. By tapping into the ground, the earth can be used as a renewable, pollution-free heat exchanger. VSHPGE-Series WSHPs also offer higher return air filtration options to help improve indoor air quality in buildings.
Available in a range of six sizes and configurations for installation versatility and convenience, the VSHPGE-Series offers cooling capacities ranging from 11,000 to 30,000 BTUH and heating capacities from 6,500 to 21,900 BTUH. The AHRI-certified units meet all UL standards and conform to ASHRAE 90.1, as well as local building codes and energy standards. Ice Air’s AHRI Performance-Certified VSHPGE models are the only vertical stack water source heat pumps to meet AHRI tier 1 efficiencies.
VSHPGE-Series geothermal heat pumps comply with NEEP Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump (ccASHP) efficiency requirements and are identified on the NEEP product listing as being suitable for cold climate electrified heating. The units also qualify for rebates, incentives, and tax credits through a variety of state, federal, and local utility programs.
